  • REGISTER TO VOTE: 
    To vote in Texas, you must be registered with your county. Simply pick up a voter registration application, fill it out completely and legibly, and return it to the Voter Registration Office at least 30 days before the election date. 

    VOTER REGISTRATION CHECK:

    HOW TO GET AN APPLICATION: 
    -Call the Voter Registration office at 830-393-7380 and request a voter registration application to be mailed to you.
    -Print a blank application and complete at home: Application
    -Submit a change request for your Voter Registration card online through Texas Online. This change is valid for address changes still within Wilson County.

    **Note: ALL completed applications must be mailed to the office or dropped off in person. PLEASE make sure hand writing is legible.**

  • NEW STATE LAW:
    Your application MUST include your Texas Driver’s License, Texas Personal Identification Number or Election Identification Certificate Number issued by the Department of Public Safety OR the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number and the number that you use must be associated with your voter registration record. We recommend that you write in both numbers. Your ID number(s) will also need to be in the space provided on the carrier envelope (the return envelope included with your mail ballot). When the envelope is sealed they will be hidden by the flap.

    VOTING BY MAIL:
    Absentee Ballot By Mail (ABBM) must be applied for each calendar year. You may call our office to request a application to be mailed to you or click here for a printable version of it. Completed applications can be mailed, faxed or emailed. *NOTE: our office must receive the original application within four business once it's been faxed or emailed.*

    REASONS FOR VOTING BY MAIL:
    -65 years of age or older
    -Disability
    -Expected to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day
    -Expected absence from the county
    -Confinement in jail

    NOTE: Military and Overseas voters can mail, fax or email their completed applications. They DO NOT need to follow up with the original application if being faxed or emailed.

  • New elections equipment will be used in all future elections.  Wilson County purchased the voting equipment from Election Systems & Software.
