Our office stops processing DMV and TPW title transfers at 4:30 pm.  This allows us to contact the regional office or Texas Parks and Wildlife for assistance if needed since they close at 5:00 pm.

Motor Vehicle Registration

As a Texas Resident, state law requires you to register and title your vehicle. Registrations can be renewed at the Wilson County Tax Office. A current safety inspection is required no more than 90 days before your vehicle registration expiration. A Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) may be required at time of registration.

Registration window stickers may also be renewed by mail.  Send your renewal form, a photo copy of proof of insurance, vehicle inspection and your check for the registration amount PLUS $1.00 to:  Wilson County Tax Office, 1 Library Ln, Floresville, Texas 78114. Please allow up to 15 days for processing of your new window sticker (or new plates) by mail.

Wilson County Tax Office Forms:

SPECIAL PLATE PERMISSION LETTER - If you are not the owner of a vehicle but would like to put special plates on the vehicle, you MUST complete this permission letter.  This form must be notarized or can be completed in our office.  Current driver's license or ID must be presented.  Click here for the Special Plate Permission Letter.

DISABLED VETERAN OR DISABLED PERSON PERMISSION LETTER - If you are not the owner of a vehicle but would like to put disabled veteran or disabled person plates on a vehicle, you MUST complete this permission letter.  This for must be notarized or can be completed in our office.  Current driver's license or ID must be presented.  Click here for the Disabled Veteran or Disabled Person Permission Letter.

PERMISSION LETTER - If you are renewing a vehicle that is not registered in your name, this permission letter MUST be completed.  A copy of the registered owner's photo identification card must accompany this form.  Click here for the Permission Letter.

PROOF OF RESIDENCY:

Proof of residency must be presented.  Below are sufficient items:

Valid Driver's License or ID with current address
Concealed Handgun Permit with current address
V
oter registration card with current address
Current bill with physical address (no more than 30 days old)
Lease agreement that states you are currently leasing and shows the current address
VA letter (no more than 30 days old)
IRS letter (no more than 30 days old)
Social security letter (no more than 30 days old)

WILSON COUNTY RESIDENCY AFFIDAVIT - If you do not have any of the above mentioned items, the person you are currently living with can complete this form.  A copy of the individuals valid driver's license or ID must be attached to the form. Click here for the Wilson County Residency Affidavit form.

STATEMENT OF FACT - If there are any errors on your title, a Statement of Fact MUST be completed and notarized.  We cannot accept a title with white out or any errors, this includes mark throughs or write overs.  Click here for the Statement of Fact form.
