    • Our office hours are:

      Our office is located in the Wilson County Justice Center Courthouse Annex Building. 

    • To be eligible for DSC, you must complete the form and have the proper documentation. 
      Once completed you may turn into the JP1 office.

    • Depends on the case. You will need to contact the JP1 office and speak to a clerk. 
    • Bring these items: * Each case is different and could require other items. 

      Your court notice (the paper that tells you when and where to go)

      A photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport, etc.)

      Any documentation related to the case-Contracts, Receipts, Bills, Letters, emails, or text messages (printed out if possible), Photos, extra copies of your evidence- One copy for you, one for the Judge, and one for the opposing side.

      Names and contact information for witnesses -If witnesses are coming, make sure they know the court date and time

      JP1 court handles claims with property valued $20,000 or less. Please see self help packet for more information or call the office at 830-393-5112.

      Fill out a Small Claims Petition: Small Claims/Debt Claim
      Pay the filing fee: $54
      Cashier's Check or Money order- made out to Wilson County JP1
      Have the defendant served: $130 Cashier's Check or Money Order- made out to WCCO

    • To reschedule a Civil or criminal case, please call our office . For Civil cases, JP1 requires a 72 hour advance notice. Contact the office and send notification in writing via email
      ( Email ). This gives us ample time to contact the other parties.

    • No. You cannot speak to the Judge about your case. If the Judge listens to you, he may not be able to try your case. 
    • The forms for the various Civil cases are on the JP 1 Civil case forms.

      Click on Civil Forms drop down and select the type of case you would like to file.

      Once you have selected the form, you will need to bring it to the office to file and submit payment. 

      Small Claims: Small Claims form

      Evictions: Eviction form

      Debt Claims: Debt Claims form

      Civil Paperwork Must Include:
      1 ORIGINAL and 2 COPIES
      Note*(Add additional set of copies if multiple Defendants are listed)
      Including: Cover Page / Petition / Filing Paperwork/Military Affidavit / Evidence/Motions / Answers
      Civil Payment must be in the form of:
      Money Order or Cashier Check
      Two Separate Payable to:
      Filing Fee – (JP1) $54.00
      Service Fee – (WCCO) $130.00 (per Defendant)

    • Evictions: Eviction form

      A "notice to vacate or notice to pay or vacate" must be posted for 72 hours prior to file an eviction. 

      When you are ready to start the eviction, you can print the forms, complete, and file at the JP1 court office.

    • Go to this website and complete the information. If your name appears, click on details on the far right. Then select the “Details” tab. This is where it shows you the details of the tickets, charges and/or if a warrant is issued and when.
